Get to know more about Hailey and her journey with us in this month’s Employee Spotlight.

How long have you been a part of Muriale's team?

I’ve worked at Muriale’s for about 5-6 years total. I was hired as a Host when I was 16 years old, and I worked up to becoming a Server before things shut down in 2020. When I came back to work after the pandemic, takeout was A LOT busier, so I started working in the Register department. I’ve spent the last 3 years there, and I was promoted to a Lead position last Summer.

What do you enjoy most about working in the Register/Takeout Department?

Working in the Register department is fun because you work as a tight-knit team all the time. There is always at least 1 other person you’re working with and as many as 8 or 9 people leading up to a big holiday.

The restaurant is usually closed on major holidays, so we know the day or two before (and sometimes after) we are going to be extremely busy – especially December 23rd. I love coordinating and organizing all the pre-orders to make sure all my coworkers and our cooks have a solid plan to get the food ready for our guests.

I enjoy Drop-off Caterings too. It’s a nice change of pace and scenery because we deliver Large Pan Orders out to different places in the area. We will set everything up for the guests at their business, their home, or other event venues. It’s nice bringing them something we know they’ll enjoy.

What do you like most about working at Muriale’s?

I love that everyone here is like a big family. We joke around with each other and have a good time, and we’re there for each other when times get tough.

What's your favorite Muriale’s dish?

Shrimp Fra Diavolo is my favorite dish, but I like to modify it with blackened chicken instead of shrimp. One of the best things about working here is trying menu items with different sauces or proteins.

What is the best guest experience you have ever been a part of?

A few years ago, we had a guest who was picking up a Large Pan Order around the holidays and he showed up early so his order wasn’t quite ready. We used to have a little shed in the parking lot, and he took selfies with us and made a lot of jokes. The holiday season can be really stressful on everyone, and the guest was just happy to be here at Muriale’s with us.

What advice would you give a young new employee starting their first job at Muriale’s?

Don’t take on more than you can handle and always ask questions or ask for help if you need it. Everyone is here to help you.

What are some major benefits of Muriale’s Takeout that our guests may not be aware of?

  • I think the best part of our takeout service is you don’t even have to get out of your car – we started curbside service in 2020, and now it’s just what we do. We don’t have the drive-thru building anymore, but we have 6 curbside takeout spots that help us take care of more than one order at a time.

  • We also have a text-to-pay option for our guests so they can pay in advance if they’re having someone else pick up for them or if they forget their wallet or something.

  • We do a lot of Large Pan orders and Drop-off Caterings, which I really enjoy delivering and setting up for our guests. It’s nice to bring

Fun Fact About Hailey:

When she was a little kid, she auditioned for a show on the Disney Channel. “I told my mom I didn’t want to move away from my friends if they picked me though.”
