About the Role

The General Manager at Muriale's Italian Kitchen is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the restaurant's operations, ensuring a high level of guest satisfaction, and achieving financial targets. They manage staff, including hiring, training, evaluating, and addressing any personnel issues. The General Manager is responsible for creating and implementing staff schedules, managing labor costs, and maintaining a positive and productive working environment.

In addition to staff management, the General Manager oversees inventory control, purchasing, and vendor relations, ensuring that the restaurant is well-stocked with ingredients, supplies, and equipment. They also enforce food safety and sanitation standards, creating and maintaining a clean and safe working environment. The General Manager is responsible for financial management, including budgeting, forecasting, and analyzing sales data to make informed decisions about the restaurant's operations.

The General Manager collaborates with the Assistant Manager and other team members to develop and implement strategies for improving the guest experience, increasing sales, and controlling costs. They may also be involved in marketing efforts, special events, and other tasks as needed to ensure the continued success of Muriale's Italian Kitchen.


  1. Education and Experience:

  2. Bachelor's degree in hospitality management or a related field; relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.

  3. At least 5 years of experience in the restaurant industry, with a minimum of 3 years in a management role.

  4. Knowledge and Skills:

  5. Strong knowledge of restaurant operations, including financial management, inventory control, and staff management.

  6. Familiarity with Italian cuisine and fine dining service standards.

  7. Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving abilities.

  8. Personal Attributes:

  9. Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.

  10. Flexibility to work different shifts, including weekends and holidays.

  11. Detail-oriented and organized.

  12. Physical Requirements:

  13. Must be able to stand for extended periods of time.

  14. Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds.
